About

This is me.  This is my life.  I have an amazing story that I am in process of sharing.  I’m not a writer.  I’m not great with words.  It’s just my story with all the themes, plot, drama, tragedy’s and shalom moments.  I’m 32.  I’ve been married for 10 years.  I have a five year old and 1 year old daughter.  I’m a world changer.  At the end of the day when my head hits the pillow, I know I am playing my role in impacting and changing this world.

My Husband:I often wonder how I was so lucky that fate drew us together. My husband is the most wonderful man on the planet. He has wowed me from the moment we fell in love. He is my other half. Life with him has been the most fascinating and amazing adventure. Many days I wake up and have to really ask myself how did God allow such a wonderful man to enter my life. We are a true partnership in all definitions of that word. He has an amazing calling on his life and I consider it a humbled joy to be able to partner with him in that and help the best I can.  He is a man who meets all of my needs and who loves his family more than anything.  But above all he is a man who wrestles with God everyday.  Who loves Jesus with all is intellect and heart and has surrendered it all to what God wants to do with and through our family.

Our Girls:Emma (5) Izzie (1) – The joy of my life. We waited 5 years before having Emma. I would recommend that to anyone. Dave and I enjoyed the freedom to pick and and go on many adventures. Life then was a lot easier but definitely not as rich. Emma came and changed our world and then Izzie joined her after the thoughts of having more children were coming to a close. Raising kids is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done. However if you are a parent you know it’s the most rewarding and fulfilling thing as well.

My Sister:My sister with her husband and their new baby Caitlyn. She lives about 15 minutes down the road from me. I love to be able to be sisters and moms together.

Dave’s Family: Dave has a little sister named Kayleigh who is 9 months older than Emma. Dave’s parents adopted her out of the foster care system. She has added a new and wonderful dynamic to our lives. Emma adores her and so do we. Dave’s family pastors a church in Rockledge FL. Patoring churches??? I believe the hardest job out there. On the right is Dan, Dave’s brother and his fiancee Elizabeth.  They are getting married in January 09.  They live in the Durham, NC area. We hate that Dave’s family is always a full days trip away and wished they or we lived a lot closer. They are amazing people and raised an incredible son and for that I am forever greatful.

My family? I must work on getting a picture and will do so. My family moved to the Greenville area about 6 years ago. Before then my dad was a pastor up North. Yes I grew up a Yankee and am proud of it. My dad works for Acura and my mom.. .well she is a big part of our family’s mission. She loves children and she watches mine. It frees me up part of the day to live out my other calling besides that of being a stay at home mom. Some people may be envious that my family is close and living here with us. I can understand. You can’t put a price on those kinds of things. But my parents have made great personal sacrifice to be able to be here and play the roles that they do.  Never in a million years would I have ever believed that my extended family would be so much a part of our daily lives.  It’s a wonderful thing that I wish could be a possibility for all families.  So I realize how fortunate it is and constantly am thankful every day for this because I know it may not always be that way.

Hello! I met you while I was working at Heartline and I found your blog through Jamie’s. I am SO SO excited to hear that you are adopting through John and Beth. Having spent almost 7 months working in their children’s homes I can assure you it’s one of the greatest places in Haiti!!!!
I can’t wait to hear more about your adoption!!
    Blessings,
    Jess

Hi there, You don’t know me but I have been reading your story and I find your family very encouraging to me.I also have a little girl and would love to have another child but desperately want to adopt from Haiti since it has been a dream since I was young.I have been to haiti many times and have fallen in love the the people there. I was just wondering if you could give me some advice for adopting, maybe a good agency to go through or where to get started. It is overwhelming! Thank you and good luck with your little guy!
